Why hello there

This was taken kind of off the cuff when we were taking some pictures of a couple of friends who recently got engaged. Playing with a friend's Nikkor 28-70mm 2.8. The thing is ridiculous and heavy and now I hurt along the right side of my body from the hefting. Well and the part where I am ridiculously out of shape.

There are a lot of dogs in Taiwan. Some stray, some not. I see a lot of them in stores. It makes me miss my own puppy. This guy was just hanging out in front of his store, waiting for something to happen.

Food

In Taiwan, I'm just eating. All the time. I'm eating about twelve times a day. This place is by the Taipei Main Station, it's this amazing Japanese buffet and all of the food is just very prettily presented. We've gone here three times now, and each time it makes me happy in the little ways the food is laid out even in an "all you can eat" style. And then I stumble out and walk to the electronics expo and look at all the shiny things I'm not allowed to buy.

Travel

This is my standard travel kit for any given time period. The shame of it all is that the majority of the blue roll on is filled with chargers and knitting.

In Taiwan this week. The last 24 hours has been airports and podcasts and trying to find a comfortable sleeping position...anywhere.

Went to St Arnold's Brewery today. Beautiful day, tasty beer. That's their Winter Stout and it's pretty yummy.

Fudge

Cheater post because I am EXHAUSTED from Thanksgiving.

I want to give thanks for my dog Fudge. I love this silly dog more than I ever thought I ever would, and I'm so happy he came into my life earlier this year. He's my little fuzzy model and companion and I really do go absolutely stupid for him.

I've had the camera about a year and I need to do some catching up.

This was at a Texans game on 10-25-09. I know all of diddly about football, but I liked the comedy in the line of people behind ...the dude with the ball. It's kind of a lucky shot taken from the cheap seats, but the colors make me happy.

A duck and learning how to use camera

D60 came in on Friday, the Sigma 18-200 came in today. Ran around with friends and took random pictures, but I don't really know if they're up to sharing yet. So here's a duck.

The camera's natural inclination is to take really color saturated photos. I don't have a real photo editor yet and I don't really know what I'm doing with one anyway, but yay learning?
